Brooklyn Deputy Sheriff Under Arrest

Deputy Sheriff James Smyth, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Wednesday and hit with almost a dozen different charges for allegedly stealing approximately $13,000 from the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association. According to the indictment, Smyth allegedly wrote eight checks to himself, using three of the union’s different bank accounts.
