Howie Borden, a Social Media Editor for The Brooklyn Ink, covers Crown Heights. He grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. At John Jay, he studied abroad in eight African countries and researched gender disparity in education.

Christian Colón covers Bedford-Stuyvesant for The Brooklyn Ink. He was born in Connecticut, but his family is from Puerto Rico. He recently graduated from Sacred Heart University with degrees in Journalism and Criminal Justice. He has worked for ABC News, Univision, and Connecticut’s WTNH-Channel 8 News. He enjoys learning about the Latino culture, especially music.

Before coming to Columbia Journalism School, he worked as research assistant in a university and as a political analyst for Mexico’s Secretary of Public Education.

She grew up in Beijing and earned her B.A. in Media Art Production with a focus in film and video production from Emerson College in Boston. She studies instructional technology and media at Columbia, and will intern for United Nation Television starting in January.
