The Ink has been following Daniel Goldstein’s decision to accept $3 million to move out of his apartment, making way for the Atlantic Yards project to begin construction.
Brooklynites throughout the borough have been weighing in on Godstein’s decision. Readers of the Times’s Cityroom blog generally support Goldstein and congratulate him for holding out until the end, while Daily News readers are more skeptical, saying, among other things, “I just learned that Goldstein in Hebrew means ‘sellout.'” This of course is not true, and demonstrates the anger among many in the borough.
The Brownstoner blog may have put it best: “It’s hard not to have some feelings of ambivalence about the way it all ended. After all, it was never supposed to be about the money.”
