Sunset Park School’s Scores Are Among City’s Highest

Despite a largely poor student body, P.S. 172 had the city’s highest scores on the standardized math tests given to fourth grade students with every student passing – all but one at an advanced level – and among the highest on the English tests. The New York Times found that at schools with the same poverty rate, just 29 percent scored at an advanced level in math.
