Shaquille O’ Neal, who spent part of his childhood in Newark, N.J., said he would like the Nets to stay put, according to The Record.
O’Neal said he would help broker a deal to keep the team out of Brooklyn and even offered to run the team when he retires.
Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov and New Jersey Devils owner Jeff Vanderbeek have an agreement to keep the Nets in New Jersey at Prudential Center for the next two seasons until the Barclays Center is completed in 2012.
