An emergency medical technician is charged with official misconduct 10 months after allegedly not doing anything while a pregnant woman died at an Au Bon Pain store in Brooklyn, New York Daily News reports. The accused, Melissa Jackson, 23, faces up to 2 years in prison if convicted. Jackson turned herself over to authorities and entered the Brooklyn district attorney’s office early this morning. Jackson and her partner EMT, Jason Green, were having lunch when Eutisha Rennix fell to the floor trying to breathe. Witnesses said the two did not attempt to help Rennix who later died with her premature baby. Green was murdered in July, which investigators say was not connected to Rennix’s death.
