Bushwick residents have become involved in the recent events surrounding the occupation of Wall Street. From voluntary workers who participate in the distribution of food for the protesters, including community activists, to artists and students. Despite the difficulties in obtaining food and funds for support, local residents of the Brooklyn neighborhood continue to gather in Zucotti Park.
Bushwick’s 83rd precinct served as a temporary reclusion place for the protesters who were arrested on October 1st while walking on the Brooklyn Bridge.
