During formal introductions of the New Jersey Nets to their new Moscow audience, Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov reiterated his vow to win a championship in five years, The Associate Press Reports. In spite of losing out on the battle over LeBron James and a lackluster draft, Prokhorov said he believes the combined effect of the team’s new Brooklyn arena, a new coaching staff including Avery Johnson, and the vigor of a young roster will lead the team to victory. Also pivotal to the success, Prokhorov expressed optimism that the Nets might still acquire Denver Nuggets All-Star Carmelo Anthony, contradicting an earlier Associated Press report.
