An old-time mobster once connected to the Genovese crime family was indicted on charges of federal racketeering and extortion dating back to the 1990s, reported the New York Post. Anthony “Rom” Romanello, 73-years-old was also charged with running a gambling operation and threatening to use violence to collect money from a debtor in 1999. In 2006 he was convicted of conspiring to obstruct justice by tampering with a witness and was placed on two years’ probation.
