The Brooklyn Nets’ game against the Washington Wizards went on as planned today, with the Nets winning 106-101, hours after a pair of explosions at the Boston Marathon killed at least three people and injured dozens. In a statement earlier today, NYPD Deputy Commissioner Paul J. Browne said, “We’re stepping up security at hotels and other prominent locations in the city through deployment of the NYPD’s critical response vehicles (CRVs) until more about the explosion is learned.”
ESPN talked to fans at the Barclays Center, where police officers stood outside. The Nets would not say whether the stadium stepped up security in light of the bombings in Boston. Read more at ESPN New York.
