Queens Senator Hiram Monserrate who was expelled from the State Senate last week by a 53-8 vote found the support of of five Brooklyn Democrats to keep him in the legislative body. Monserrate was expelled due to charges of domestic violence although the case is yet to go to trial. The Brooklyn Senators were backing a Bill to expel him after six months, saying that the embattled Senator deserved to be subject to the due process of the law.
