The prosecution concluded its case today against a Brooklyn man accused of beating his six-month-old dog to death in 2006.
“I think I need help with anger management because I killed my first dog too,” Dudley Ramsey, then 22, told a police officer several hours after his arrest, according to the testimony today of Officer Richard Ryan, from the Humane Law Enforcement Agency.
Ramsey, 5’9” and 260 pounds, wore a three-piece suit and sparkling diamond jewelry to the trial. The defense will continue the trial tomorrow, with two character witnesses and possibly Ramsey himself.
Aggravated animal cruelty can carry a sentence as long as two years in prison.
