Legendary African-American actress, singer and civil rights activist Lena Horne died Sunday night in the New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Born in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bed-Stuy, the four-time Grammy winner also lived in Pittsburgh and Atlanta before striking out for a career in Hollywood. Originally contracted with MGM, she appeared in 22 films and numerous television shows throughout her career, although was best known for her popular (and lucrative) nightclubs acts. She was 92
