Brooklyn Man Killed a Month After Stabbing Friend with Ice Pick

A 23 year-old from Prospect Heights was shot in the head at about 1:45 p.m. Saturday in a courtyard at the intersection of Ocean and Church Avenues in Brooklyn. The victim, Dymitre Thelismond, was arrested about a month earlier, according to the NY Post, for stabbing a friend with an ice pick. That man did not die. The Post is reporting that no arrests have been made in Thelismond’s shooting death.

I think that it it is very disrespectful, not only
to Dymitre but to his family that the law
enforcement and the news media dug into
his past to get negative information about
him in order to validate his murder. At the
end of the day, Dymitre Thelismond was
someone’s son. I believe that if you want to
provide the public with information, state the
facts before you publicize it…..

I don’t appreciate how the media is slandering and bashing my friend,even in his death…Can a man REST IN PEACE?????..Dymitre Thelismond was my friend.He was very sweet,loving,funny,and charasmatic.To know him,was to love him!!!The New York Post would have known these things,if they would have done the noble thing.As far as coming to the neighborhood to question people or even search for useful sources..The courts and Law Enforcement excluded.The media along with the law enforcement always find a way to use one’s past to justify certain actions.Regardless of what is said of Dymitre(the deceased)..He’s indeed someone’s son,brother,companion,and friend.He did not deserve to die with a shot to the head.He was killed in broad daylight and i feel like his death is in vain.Due to his past,which has nothing to do with the present!!!He was my friend,so regardless of what the papers and media say..I’m going to love and miss him anyway!!!!!!

I agree with Adriana, I am also a very dear friend
to Dymitre and to know him is to love him.
Dymitre will deeply be missed by myself and
a host of others. The media seem to dismiss the
main point that Dymitre’s life was senselessly
snuffed out at a very young age. My children
and I have had the pleasure of knowing Dymitre
and my children adored him as an individual.
Dymitre’s character is what justifies everything,
Dymitre is Respectful, Well Mannered, Friendly
Loving, Helpful, I can go and on about who Dymitre
really is, but the law enforcement and the Media
did not feel it was neccessary to come to his
neighborhood to find out the TRUTH about Dymitre.
Had someone from either parties took a few
minutes out of their “important” lives, they would
have been informed correctly by many of all
ages; toddlers, teens, adults, and even the elderly.
R.I.P Dymitre aka Uncle Shawny, you will be missed
but Never Ever Forgotten. “Top of the Morning”

“Top of the morning neighbor”..was how Dymitre would greet myself n others when he sees u in the morning..Smh..I’m still very disturbed that no one took the time to find out who he really was..The media already got their info from the law enforcements,So he is already labelled..Which is not a good look..He was still a human being..He will be missed by myself and a host of others..So when it’s all said and done..His past does not effect how the people from the community feels about him..We loss a gem..an “Angel in Disguise”..We love u Dee..and I’m missing you..and i know u know how we all feel..R.I.P baby..Gone but never forgotten!!!!..”Gucci”..;)
