Home Live Wire Bikini Bottom Ads Removed from Brooklyn Buses

You know you’ve seen them. The vodka advertisements that show a woman’s bikini-clad backside. The Metropolitan Transportation Authorty has removed the Georgi ads from Brooklyn buses that travel in Hasidic neighborhoods because they’re too revealing. Aaron Donovon, MTA spokesman, told the Gothamist, “It has been our longstanding practice, when and where possible, to be sensitive to neighborhood concerns about potentially suggestive advertising. Although it is not always practicable, we try to limit more suggestive ads upon neighborhood request.” Martin Silver, Georgi CEO,  returned the serve: He hired models to hold a number of signs outside the MTA bus depot, including ones that read “MTA should butt out of bikini ads,” and “Keep our bikinis on the bus.”
