Traveling from Brooklyn, 15 Brooklyn artists rode in trucks and on trains to Long Beach West to convert run-down cottages into art space. The structures in the small cottage town are scheduled to be torn down later this month, but the artists are still working to create beauty where it’s lacking, they said. It is the second time the artists have converted abandoned spaces, the second installment in “Overtake,” the name of their project. “Life is ephemeral,” Ben Wolf, 27, told the Middletown Press. “Art in a gallery only lasts for one month, but the chance of this lasting longer than a month is at least possible.”
