The operator of the iconic Coney Island coaster is giving up her contract, leaving the city to find someone new to run the 83-year-old landmark, according to the New York Daily News.
Just next door is a likely contender for the job, the Italian amusement company Zamparela that runs Luna Park.
“The Cyclone is a New York City icon, known and loved throughout the world for generations,” said Zamparela USA President Valerio Ferrari, “Luna Park is proud to call the Cyclone our neighbor, and we fully support any effort that will enhance this landmark.”
