Home Live Wire DUMBO Improvement Director to Step Down

At the end of this year the Executive Director of the DUMBO Improvement District will step down according to a story in the NY Post.

Kate Kerrigan is leaving her job after two years to work elsewhere in the city.

Kerrigan was responsible for the reconstruction projects that reopened the Manhattan Bridge Archway to the public and restored Brooklyn streets like Water, Adams, Old Fulton, Washington, York, and Plymouth.

Whoever assumes her role will be in charge of dramatic changes to the face of DUMBO thanks to a Planning Commission decision that rezoned the area east of the Manhattan bridge. The area has been declared for “mixed-use” where it once was reserved for manufacturing.
