A man accused of exposing himself to a teenage girl on a crowded subway train got a free ride, courtesy of police, according to the NY Post.
Daniel Barricella, 59, of Brooklyn, spent a night in jail after being arraigned yesterday for public lewdness and sexual harassment. All suspects that stay in jail overnight are given a metrocard with two fares upon their release, according to Corrections Department policy.
Barricella was picked up by police four days after a report was filed by Annie Jiang, 17, a Brooklyn Tech student. Jiang was riding a crowded N train to school when the alleged incident occurred. She snapped a picture of Barricella with her cellphone and later turned it over to police after first telling the Dean of Brooklyn Tech what had happened. The Dean contacted police.
Barricella was picked up at the 8th Ave station after a detective recognized him.
Brooklyn Supreme Court Judge Kevin McGrath issued an order of protection prohibiting Barricella have any contact with Jiang.
