Storms rolled through Brooklyn yesterday evening bringing a downpour of hail, The New York Times reports. Hailstones the size of quarters piled nearly an inch high in Brooklyn Heights in addition to battering Prospect Heights, Park Slope and other neighborhoods in the borough. Most of New York City and parts of New Jersey were blasted by the weather front. Hoboken received an inch of hail. Central Park experienced an inch of rain. Today’s forecasts call for a 40 percent chance of precipitation.
