A Brooklyn couple was charged yesterday with homicide and manslaughter, for allegedly killing a three-month-old baby by beating him and placing his remains in a tub of wet concrete, prosecutors told the The Wall Street Journal. The couple, Domingo Salazar and his wife, Norma Mendez, allegedly abused the infant, Carlos Santillana in 2008, failed to give him medical attention, and left his remains in a container of wet concrete for 11 months. The couple also pleaded guilty to federal sex trafficking charges in November, 2009, after Salazar brought the infant’s teen mother to New York to work as a prostitute.
