An orthodox rabbi withdrew support from  gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino because the Republican apologized for anti-gay comments made on Sunday, the New York Times reports. The rabbi, Yehuda Levin,who helped write the remarks, said Mr. Paladino “folded like a cheap camera” because of the uproar they had set off. Mr. Paladino, had said that, “children should not be brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality was acceptable, and criticized opponent Andrew Cuomo for attending a gay pride parade with his daughter. Facing tough criticism, Paladino apologized on Tuesday and said he would “fight for all gay New Yorker’s rights” if elected.
