Ink reporters Alex Gecan and Lynn La are currently investigating the shooting of a police officer in East New York that occurred Sunday night.
According to The Wall Street Journal, 17-year-old Elijah Foster Bey was riding his bicycle down Bradford Street when three plain-clothes officers asked him to stop and talk. There had been a number of robberies in the area allegedly committed by someone on a bicycle.
Bey fled up three stories in a building, allegedly firing at police as he ascended. The Wall Street Journal reports that he is said to have struck one cop in the calf two times, as well as the abdomen. Bey himself was shot and is recovering from three bullet wounds at Brookdale Hospital.
