Seniors protest bike lanes in Park Slope

Home Live Wire Seniors protest bike lanes in Park Slope

In Park Slope, a group of seniors are gathering at the corner of Carroll St and Prospect Park West to protest against nearby bicycle lanes, writes Jake Pearson for the New York Daily News. This comes on the heels of a recent spat between parishioners of a Brooklyn Heights church and bicycle enthusiasts over the historic Henry St bike lane.

Protestors of the Prospect Park West bike lane are urging low law makers to shut down bicycle traffic. Leslie Sicklick, the organizer of the demonstration, wrote in a letter to the editors at the Villager that cyclists effect local businesses, slow down traffic, and “are rude and feel they’re entitled.”
