According to the District Attorney Charles Hynes, the 24-hour hotline for gay and lesbian hate-crime victims is now operating in Brooklyn. The hotline, which was announced as part of the recently created anti-gay hate crime task force is designed to encourage victims who are uncomfortable calling 911 to report crimes.
