Brooklyn artists will be contributing paintings and photographs to an “Empowerment”-themed art exhibit at Gallery 364 in Bay Ridge. The artworks are already included in a $20 wall calendar, being sold to raise money for domestic-violence victims. Proceeds will go directly to the Bay Ridge based nonprofit Women Against Violence, which offers counseling to women suffering from domestic abuse and cannot afford professional help. According to the New York Daily News, the October 2010-December 2011 calendar was launched last month and has sold about 100 copies since.
