NYPD will launch a probe into memos at the 77th precinct in northern Crown Heights, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Monday.
The decision was made after an officer posted at least two notices that listed a required number of tickets needed in a specific amount of time, said the New York Daily News. The notice goes against NYPD’s no- quota stance and breaks state law.
“Commissioner Kelly will look at it,” Bloomberg said, “We don’t have quotas.”
In recent months at least three police officers around the city have come forward with stories of quota demands in their precincts.
