Brooklyn Literally at Butt of ’30 Rock’ Joke

Brooklyn received attention on last night’s NBC comedy 30 Rock in the form of a fictional brand (Brooklyn Without Limits) of a pair of denim jeans worn by the shows main character Liz Lemon, Entertainment Weekly reports. The brand BWL was visible on the waist of Lemon’s rear end. The episode parodied the hipster style that has become synonymous with neighborhoods such as Williamsburg. It also took a biting satirical stance on the conservative political Tea Party. The show portrays Brooklyn Without Limits as a fair-trade, local-artisan-friendly clothing store, purportedly a jab at Urban Outfitters and other boutiques that brand themselves as “green” clothiers that are popular with hipster customers.
