Mayor Bloomberg will announce a new round of budget cuts today to combat New York City’s $3 billion deficit, NY1 says. The cuts are expected to include most departments, including Education, Finance, Aging and libraries, with an estimated savings of $1.5 billion.
These cuts come after Bloomberg’s orders to all city agencies to cut their budgets by 5.4 percent and plans for expenditure by 8 percent in 2011.
