Twenty-six year-old Joel Weinberger was brutally beaten on Thanksgiving in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Dressed in Hasidic garb, he was attacked from behind and had his cell phone stolen. Weinberger suffered a broken leg and swollen eyes and has been hospitalized According to a family spokesman, Weinberger’s “religious articles–his hat, his jacket, his fringes–were ripped apart.” Police are classifying this crime as a “bias incident.” Read more at Vos Iz Neias.
