A 25-year-old Brooklyn yeshiva student was killed Monday night when a drunk driver struck his car while possibly drag racing, New York Daily News reports. The crash happened on Ocean Ave. near Avenue N. The victim was driving north on Ocean Ave. in his red Mercury Sable and was hit by a black Volkswagon headed southbound, police said. The drunk driver allegedly crossed the double yellow line. The victim was rushed to Maimonides Hospital and died shortly after arrival. The Daily News reported a witness to the crash said the suspect smelled strongly of booze. Read more here.
