In an attempt to get up to speed on her new position as chancellor of city schools, Cathleen Black visited Medgar Evers College in Crown Heights, Brooklyn yesterday, according to The New York Times.
Black, accompanied by school and city officials, toured classrooms and interacted with students, parents and the principal, sat in on a lecture, and was even serenaded by a group of sixth graders in Chinese.
While Black has so far visited A, B and C grade schools, she has yet to visit any failing schools. She says, however, that this is on her agenda.
