Home Live Wire Home Sales in Brooklyn Increase By Nearly 20 Percent

A recent report by Prudential Douglas Elliman and Miller Samuel Inc. says that home sales in Brooklyn have increased 18.1 percent from the same quarter in 2010, Crain’s reports.

The two neighborhoods with the biggest increase were Williamsburg and Greenpoint, with 67.8 percent. New condos were the main reason: they made up 87 percent of all sales in the area.

The increase can be explained by the increase in rent prices in Manhattan, according to Jonathan Mille, CEO of Miller Samuel Inc.
