Several officers from the 68th and 71st precincts are among 12 people being charged with smuggling.
As of Tuesday, William Masso, along with Eddie Goris, John Mahoney and other Brooklyn policemen are facing multiple conspiracy charges. According to authorities, “Masso and his team moved more than $1 million worth of ‘stolen’ goods in exchange for $100,000 in cash payments”. Masso’s attorney stated that his client denies all charges and plans to plead not guilty. This case only adds to the controversies that have been surrounding the NYPD for some time.
