Levi Aron, Suspected Child Killer, will be Tried in Brooklyn

Levi Aron, accused of kidnapping and dismembering 8-year-old Hasidic boy Leiby Kletzky, will face trial in Brooklyn, according to Gothamist.

Aron’s lawyer, Jennifer McCann, argued that a trial in Brooklyn will put her client at a disadvantage, as the boy went missing and was killed in Brooklyn, and appealed for the trial to be moved to Suffolk county or the Bronx. But their appeal was turned down by the Appellate Division. Brooklyn’s District Attorney explained that “there are nearly 500,000 people eligible for jury duty in Brooklyn, and that there are far fewer Jews in Suffolk and Bronx Counties.”
