The conflict of whether to ban Israeli products from the Park Slope Food Co-op was decided on Tuesday after co-op members voted down the proposal for the boycott 653 to 1,005 in a 15,500 member meeting. Community members and dedicated shoppers were divided on this issue.
The vote — with 1,005 against the referendum and 653 in favor — follows about three years of debate between opposing groups within the 15,500-plus member organization.
