Brooklyn Judge Orders Temporary Halt to Closing of Long Island College Hospital

A Brooklyn judge put a temporary stop to the closing of Long Island College Hospital Wednesday — just after officials submitted a shutdown plan to the state Health Department. A temporary restraining order from Judge Betsy Barros bars personnel at SUNY Downstate Medical Center — which owns LICH — from “any communication” with the Health Department about the plan.
