An elderly Brooklyn landlord armed only with a pipe wrestled a gun away from his tenant and fatally shot him during a fight Sunday over rent, police sources said. The fight erupted just after 1 p.m. in the two-story brick home the men shared on Shepherd Ave. in East New York. The landlord, identified by neighbors as Phillip Estevez, 63, came at his 51-year-old tenant with the pipe — but then the tenant pulled a gun and fired.That shot missed and Estevez wrestled the gun away, sources said. That’s when he blasted the tenant in the chest, killing him.
