Kings County Jerky has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the New York City government to expand production. The money will go to working with a partner jerky company in Pennsylvania. The expansion is being made to give the company a production capacity large enough to meet a growing appetite from wholesalers to go national. Based in East Williamsburg, the company says that it would like to keep production in Brooklyn but for now, there just aren’t the facilities.
