Former Congressman Anthony Weiner is dipping his toes back into politics, seriously considering running for mayor of New York City. Weiner has been in and out of the public eye since he resigned from the U.S. House of Representatives in 2011 after being caught sending lewd pictures of himself in electronic messages. The former representative of New York’s 9th District, Weiner has already spent more than $100,000 on polling research for a possible mayoral run.
Weiner formally announced his considerations in an interview with the New York Times Magazine.
