Police are looking for a group of people who have taken money from the accounts of ATM users. The thieves waited until the victims dipped their cards at one ATM and then got them to use a different machine. The suspects then looked over their shoulders to watch victims enter their PIN numbers and entered them into the first ATM to withdraw money from the victims’ accounts. The practice, called “shoulder surfing,” occurred three times last month at Banco Popular on Eastern Parkway.
