Nobody rides for free, Governor Paterson announced a few weeks ago, offering only $25 million in the budget for student MetroCards. The teachers union is holding a city-wide protest in Manhattan, and Public Advocate Bill DeBlasio is asking people to protest by handing out flyers between 7 and 9:30 at subway stations around the city.
