PETA Peeved About Mike Tyson’s Brooklyn Pigeon-Racing

Animal Planet has taken on boxer Mike Tyson’s pigeon-racing show that is to be filmed in Brooklyn and named Taking On Tyson. They have also taken on PETA’s wrath. Entertainment Weekly reports that, even before  a scene has been shot, the animal-loving organization has spoken out against the animal-loving channel. Animal Planet already issued a comment stating that, worry not!, there will be no wagering on the races, but they didn’t deny the races themselves. They continued, “We have not yet begun filming but, rest assured, all of the pigeons that we will feature in the program are cherished and respected by their owners, including Mr. Tyson. Animal Planet will honor that respect and care in our production and in how these beautiful creatures are treated.”
