The Village Voice obtained a shocking exclusive recordings of inside the 81st precinct in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
A police officer of the precinct had become concerned about the precinct’s disservice to the public. He secretly recorded telephone calls and conversations of his colleagues and superiors without their knowledge in 2009.
The tapes expose precinct bosses pushing cops to meet arrest quotas and not to report certain crime reports in order to manipulate crime statistics.
