Hate Crime Trial – More Evidence Reviewed

The jury deciding the fate of Keith Phoenix reviewed testimony from Kimberly Taylor, an EMS worker who lives across the street from where Jose Sucuzhanay was beaten to death. A court reporter read a transcript of Taylor’s original testimony, in which she said she was roused from her sleep by a banging and thumping. She watched from her window as Keith Phoenix hit Jose Sucuzhanay five times, in what prosecutors allege was a hate crime. Taylor later called 911 and alerted authorities.
