Prospect Park residents clash over bike path

Home Live Wire Prospect Park residents clash over bike path

Opponents and supporters of a Prospect Park bike path are expected to stage competing rallies in Grand Army Plaza this morning, reports the Daily News.  The two way bike path was built over the summer along 19 blocks of Prospect Park West, replacing one of the street’s traffic lanes.   But critics say it generates safety problems and a better solution would be to reconfigure the bike lane currently running along Prospect Park.   Local authorities say the bike path has helped to reduce accidents but have also emphasized it is on a trial period.
