A Brooklyn woman is suing a hospital in Coney Island for a botched injection meant for her diabetes that left skin on her arm rotting, Gothamist reports. Marie Louis-Jeune, 55, received an injection at the Coney Island Hospital but the staff missed her veins leaving a calcium chloride solution to eat away at the epidermis around her elbow. “Coney Island Hospital was clearly negligent and reckless in their treatment of Ms. Jeune,” Louis-Jeune’s lawyer said. The courts attempted to mediate the malpractice case yesterday, but the report says Louis-Jeune was insulted by the hospital’s offer. A trial is now set for Feb. 4.
