Cigar Lounge Choking Out Fort Greene Residents

Home Live Wire Cigar Lounge Choking Out Fort Greene Residents

Some residents in Fort Greene are complaining a cigar lounge is forcing them to reconsider their residential locales, New York Daily News reports. Diamonte’s Brooklyn Cigar Lounge on South Oxford St. opened last year and is moving some neighbors to seal their windows to keep cigar smoke from seeping into their apartments. “I cannot open my windows. It’s a constant lingering odor. It’s like someone is in our house smoking a cigar,” said Luis Urrea, who lives across the street from Diamonte’s. Multiple tenants in a building near the cigar lounge have contacted landlords Sharon and Jim Barnes that they are willing to break their leases to escape what they believe are looming health concerns.
