56-Year-Old Church to Close in January

The congregation at Our Lady of Monserrate-St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Bedford-Stuyvesant were stunned to hear that their church will shut down in January, the New York Post reports.  The church is one of two the financially limited diocese will be closing next year. The other Church is the Church of St. Edward the Confessor in Fort Greene.
