On the corner of Joralemon and Court Street right outside of Columbus Park, two African-American men dressed in black evangelized to passersby.

A young man wearing a blue backpack and Brooklyn Dodgers cap stopped to listen to the duo. They preached holding two worn bibles tightly in their hands while the young man listened with a smirk on his face. The men preached to him about the misconceptions of Jesus. Another man, on his way to work stopped to listen then quickly walked on.

“Don’t go back to that church,” said one of the men. The sun reflected off of the Star of David pendant hanging on his chest. As the young man walked away he started to laugh.

Moments later, a man wearing a FreshDirect food delivery uniform stopped beside the evangelists. Just leaving his morning shift, the man placed his duffle bag at the base of a nearby tree. He took out a gray sweatshirt and pulled it over his uniform. He also took out a white bandana and put it around his head. The bandana had a Star of David on it. He joined his brothers in the preaching circle.
